Owner & Principal Interior Designer
Candace Ullal has over fifteen years experience designing hospitality, commercial & residential interiors throughout the United States. She is originally from Santa Cruz, California and has traveled the globe gathering multi-cultural design inspiration. Candace graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Interior Architect & Design from the Academy of Art University in San Francisco and started in the hospitality industry of the Bay Area and Napa Valley. She continued forging her design career in Pacific Northwest for many years focusing on multi-family developments and then established CU Design in Portland, Oregon during 2018.
Candace’s design aesthetic is commonly contemporary, streamlined & functional. Each project is team orientated and guided by a deep understanding of the design process and client’s needs. Candace’s authenticity and resourcefulness allows everyone involved to enjoy the creative process. Through studying the patterns of humans and their connection to the built environment she designs with the intent of longevity and context. Candace believes through sustainable design we can alter our experience and interact with our space in a way that enriches life.
Candace enjoys exploring the outdoors, Portland dining and competing in local soccer matches. If she’s not in the design studio with her dog Bruce, you’ll find them surfing the Oregon coast or snowboarding on Mt. Hood. In addition, her talents include music and the many arts. Candace continues to expand her professional connections locally and would be honored to design abroad. She has recently been featured in Portland Monthly and Oregon Home Summer and Fall Editions.
